About the Project
Our social innovation has been focuses on Education for Underprivileged Children in Chow Kit. The children in Yayasan Chow Kit and Buku Jalanan Chow Kit are in need of bigger space of learning environment as it might help to capture their interest in learning knowledge by applying technologies and engaging their hobbies in gaining new information which are very crucial for the children’s development. Ed-Scape, a play of words between education, landscape and escape. The spaces we offer using shipping containers serve different purposes to balance out active stimulation of the parts of the brain that are in charge of fun and excitement. We are aware of the importance of education needed to spark a sense and interest of learning and with that, education alone is not enough. Our idea could place the right mindset with proper guidance may increase their chance of brightening their future.
The Ed-Scape is derived from the word education and escape, a space-saving shipment containers prototype that allocate spaces for children to have a more welcoming classrooms with blended learning of using technologies and gaming gadgets. We are heavily focusing on finding the right solution for the kids to enjoy a better learning environment and help ensuring the academic and psychological well-being of underprivileged children in the Chow Kit area particularly the children of Buku Jalanan Chow Kit and Yayasan Chow Kit. The objective of our project is to help capturing their interest in learning knowledge by applying technologies and engaging their hobbies by gaining new information which are very crucial for the children’s development. Our project aligns with SDG Goal 4: Quality Education, which addresses the space issue and the variety of activities that the kids in both organisations are facing. Lastly, the prototype is expected to be attained to the children of Buku Jalanan Chow Kit and Yayasan Chow Kit.
