Abstract

 

Malaysia is a hot climate country that people are extremely dependent on air-conditional for cooling down the spaces. The need for façade shading devices from sun is particularly needed especially in Malaysia. Therefore, responsive façade shading devices comes in as a solution by reducing the level of discomforts of spaces for user. Hence, this paper seeks to address on how responsive façade that can act as shading devices by having natural ventilation and able to resist strong wind.

Malaysia is a hot climate country. According to researches, people are extremely dependent on air-conditional for cooling down the spaces. This is due to the extremely hot weather especially in the afternoon. The average daily temperatures ranges from 32 Celsius to 35 Celsius. The need for façade shading devices from sun is particularly needed especially in Malaysia. Therefore, responsive façade shading devices plays an important role in enhancing user friendly experiences. It can reduce the level of discomforts and provide comfortable spaces for user. However, studies show that there are factors that influences the user comfort although when the façade shading devices is provided, which include the air movements; air temperatures and humidity. Therefore, this paper seeks to address on how responsive façade that can act as shading devices by having natural ventilation and able to resist strong wind.
